The Reedsburg Beavers Clay Target Team (Beaver Clays Team) was started in 2018. The Beaver Clays Team is a trap shooting team that competes in the Wisconsin State High School Clay Target League (www.wiclaytarget.com). Clay target shooting is the safest and fastest-growing high school sport in the country. The League’s and Team’s priorities are Safety, Fun, Marksmanship, and Sportsmanship.
The Team is an extracurricular co-ed team of youth shooters within the School District of Reedsburg in 6th through 12th grades. All athletes will compete as one team. The Team is sponsored by the School District of Reedsburg, the Reedsburg Outdoor Club, and the Oak Tree Gobblers Branch of the National Wild Turkey Federation. All shooting, except the State Tournament, will take place at the Reedsburg Outdoor Club on Luedtke Road.
There is a 9-week spring league in April and May, a 6-week fall league in September and October, a State Tournament (optional) in early June, and a National Tournament (optional) in July. Costs to participate in the Spring and Fall Leagues are $50 per each league, plus costs for ammunition and shooting gear. There are additional entry fees for the State and National Tournaments.
Students in grades 6th through 12th that meet academic eligibility can participate.
