National Honor Society is a national organization created to recognize outstanding high school students. The four main tenets NHS is built upon are scholarship, leadership, service, and character. NHS is not open to every student. The first criterion that must be met is a 3.5 GPA at the beginning of the junior year. The eligible students can then choose to fill out an application and, if accepted, will officially be a part of the NHS chapter at RAHS. Throughout the year, students will have the opportunity to participate in several service projects that benefit the community and the school.
