FAFSA is a free application to apply for state and federal grants and loans. Even if you feel you will not qualify for grants, there is a loan in the amount of $5,500 for all students, regardless of parent income.
- FAFSA provides for lower interest rate loans for families.
- FAFSA is also the avenue to apply for the Parent Plus Loan.
- Students, parents, and borrowers are required to use an FSA ID, made up of a username and password, to access certain U.S. Department of Education websites. Your FSA ID is used to confirm your identity when accessing your financial aid information and electronically signing your federal student aid documents.
- This process is free! If you are asked to provide payment or a credit card number, you have likely used the incorrect web address. Use caution when submitting your personal information.
- Obtain Information and fill out your FAFSA online.

Additional Resources and Information
Get free, on-site professional assistance completing the FAFSA, which is the form senior students must complete to be considered for grants and loans to help pay for college the next school year. At this event, attendees obtain a quick overview about financial aid and then have the opportunity to work in the on-site computer lab to begin filling out the FAFSA. If the student/family has the necessary paperwork, the FAFSA can actually be completed and submitted at that time; or, the information can be saved and completed later. Stop in the RAHS Counseling Office or visit www.collegegoalwi.org for more information, including what to bring if you attend, locations, dates and times.
