About the Program

The Reedsburg Area High School Local Scholarship and Senior Honors Night Program has taken place annually for many years thanks to the generosity of local individuals, families, organizations, and businesses. Through a common application and selection process during second semester, local scholarships of all types are awarded to graduating RAHS seniors based on a variety of criteria. The scholarships are then awarded to their respective winners at Senior Honors Night in May. Award presenters include scholarship donors, members of the business community, organization leaders, as well as School District of Reedsburg faculty and staff. Honor Cords are also presented to seniors who maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher upon completion of the seventh semester of high school. Beginning with the Class of 2021, students who earn a laude distinction will also receive an honor cord. All seniors and their immediate families are invited to attend this special evening.

Additionally, some of the scholarships awarded on Senior Honors Night do not utilize the RAHS common application and selection process. Instead, these are local scholarships offered to RAHS students, and possibly to students in other area school districts or Sauk County, via a separate application and selection process that may not be affiliated with the School District of Reedsburg. Scholarships in this category may only be presented at Senior Honors Night to current RAHS graduating seniors. School Administration and Counseling Staff reserve the right to limit or refuse presentation of awards that do not utilize the RAHS common application and selection process. Current and Past Program Information

• Class of 2025: Information regarding the program for the current graduating class will be posted on this website once available. Students will receive email updates on a regular basis.
  • Senior Honors Night will take place on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at 7 p.m. in the CAL Center at Reedsburg Area High School.
  • Local scholarship and honor cord award recipients, their immediate families, and local award sponsors and presenters are invited to attend this special event.
• Class of 2024: During the school year, information will be posted on this website and shared directly with senior students, families and scholarship sponsors.
  • The local scholarship program common application roll-out meeting for senior students took place on Tuesday, February 13th at 10:34 a.m. (period 4) in the RAHS Commons.
    • Information, instructions, tips and deadlines were shared with students by school counseling staff at this presentation.

  • The online RAHS Local Scholarship Common Application deadline was Friday, March 8th by 11:59 p.m. No exceptions.
  • May 7th: Scholarship and honor cord award recipients received emailed invitations to Senior Honors Night from RAHS Counseling Staff. A Skylert notification was sent to families of award recipients as well. Congratulations!
  • Senior Honors Night took place on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at 7 p.m. in the CAL Center at Reedsburg Area High School.

Sponsors and Donors

Groups or individuals interested in providing new scholarship assistance through the RAHS Local Scholarship Program and Common Application process are encouraged to contact RAHS Counseling Staff in the fall in order to include the award in the program materials for the current RAHS graduating class. New sponsors will be asked to complete a New RAHS Scholarship Criteria Form; if the award is to be offered to the current graduating class, the scholarship criteria and information must be finalized by mid-November. Donors wishing to have their new scholarships managed through the Reedsburg Schools Foundation (RSF) and/or offered to alumni are asked to contact Barb Sand, RSF Administrative Assistant, by calling (608) 524-2016 ext. 2007.

Sponsors who do not utilize the RAHS Common Application process who wish to present an award to a graduating RAHS senior at Senior Honors Night in May are asked to contact School Counseling Staff at least 4-6 weeks prior to the event. These sponsors may be required to provide complete contact information along with a current copy of their scholarship application, instructions, eligibility criteria, and award certificates. RAHS Administration and School Counseling Staff reserve the right to limit or refuse presentation of awards that do not utilize the RAHS common application and selection process.

Scholarship sponsors participating in the RAHS Local Scholarship Program and/or Senior Honors Night will receive time-sensitive confirmation letters and forms via email and/or mail regarding the program for the current graduating class in December. This information is sent to the permanent contact person at the mailing address on record. If sponsor contact information changes, please notify RAHS Counseling Staff to ensure timely and accurate delivery of information and materials. Additional information and updates will be provided in the winter and spring months regarding student applications and Senior Honors Night in May. Timely responses from scholarship sponsors are required and appreciated in order to ensure the accuracy and integrity of this special program.
