RAHS students transferring out of the School District of Reedsburg to attend another school must complete a check-out procedure with a parent/guardian in the RAHS Counseling Office. Completing the check-out process in a timely manner facilitates a smooth transition for the student to his/her new school.
The following steps take place at check-out:
- The Counseling Office prepares a withdrawal form for the student to have signed by his/her classroom teachers. Each teacher will provide the student with his/her withdrawal grade and percentage and accept the return of any borrowed textbooks and classroom materials. The student's physical education locker will also need to be emptied.
- The student will return any borrowed IMC materials, including the school-issued Chromebook (or other 1-to-1 device) and accessories.
- The student will return any items borrowed from the Activities Department, including sports equipment, team uniforms, fundraising materials, etc. The student's activities locker will need to be cleaned and emptied also.
- The student will clean his/her school locker, i.e. remove all personal items, discard any trash, and return all school property.
- The student/family will remit any outstanding fees to the Main Office; the family account will be invoiced for any unpaid fees and/or unreturned books and materials.
- The parent/guardian will sign the withdrawal form (if the student is under age 18).
- The student/family will receive a copy of the student's transcript, schedule and withdrawal form.
- IMPORTANT: The student/family will be invoiced for any unreturned, lost or damaged items borrowed from the school, including textbooks, IMC materials, uniforms, and other classroom or activities items.
Once the School District of Reedsburg receives a Request for Records from the new school, the student's records will be released to that school. Until the School District of Reedsburg receives a Request for Records from the student's new school, the student remains enrolled at RAHS and is subject to all attendance* regulations. NOTE: Families wishing to participate in home-based education must annually file their requests electronically (using PI-1206 form) on the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction's website at https://dpi.wi.gov/sms/home-based.
